would it be better to convert so i could use s300 or wouldnt it really be a big difference, and if so how much and what would it take to convert?

i have a 1994 honda civic cx HB w/ a B16A2 swap that i just recently bought, well the problem is the previous owner didnt put in a new ecu or hondata unit, he just hooked the VTEC up to a toggle switch :x, i know that cant really be good for it and sence i really dont know much myself about cars ...
