Re: Daughter board communication error before crank

Check the battery voltage at the ECU using a multimeter during start and see what it is doing. It is probably dropping too low and that is causing the issue.

What you need to do is check the battery voltage to the ECU while the starter is cranking the engine.

Re: The most frustrating error code ever( Daughter board communication error)

I second a function to disable that error, but I doubt is it possible as the error starts even before starting the engine.... have you tried to just put the key into ignition and wait (without starting the car). If you're like me, the error comes up during the electronics check, even when the ...

Re: Daughter board communication error before crank

I have a similar problem.

https://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=20276&start=15

Interested to see what you find. My voltage to the ECU is consistently about .1v to -.15v below the battery. I don't play with it too much as I still have my stock ECU that works just fine.

Yeah read ...

Unfortunately a new battery and a ecu clean didn't work.
I'll spam my own thread after this :)

Cheers for the heads up :D Will give it a go before ripping out all my wiring\cabling over the weekend.

Re: Daughter board communication error ...

This does not sound like an issue with the ECU or the K-Pro board, but the fact that the ECU is not getting high enough voltage when the K-Pro starts up to work correctly.

Voltage on ECU when not cranking is 12.7V btw.

Both of us are having ECU voltages of over 12.5V when the error occurs ...

Re: Daughter board communication error ...

This is actually similar to my issue in the other thread. I've been checking precrank and crank voltages (12v+ and 10v+). PRA ecu as well! Could it be an issue with the PRA ecus?

Out of curiosity, did this start happening after kpro updated their software in April/May? I see another that's about ...

Re: Daughter board communication error before crank

It could be the battery , grounds or the wiring to the ECU. You will have to use a multimeter to try and find where there is resistance which is causing the voltage to drop.

Yeah I agree. Will be this weekend's mission. I suspect it is the battery or wiring to ECU, as grounds were recently done ...

Re: Daughter board communication error before crank

So started perfectly and stayed perfect this morning (under 5 degrees) drove to work.

Upon return to vehicle 9hrs later, it started happening again. Except the check light has stayed on even when warm.

Have checked both +ve from the ecu, both are 12v/14.2v pre/post crank (before and after the starter motor has clicked).

Daughter board communication error before crank

Issue: on cold mornings <10 degrees C (50F) I normally let the car do its diagnostic check, then crank. Was faultless for a few months, then suddenly started going into limp mode within 5s of starting the car. It would go away when the engine is fully warmed up. Like https://www.hondata.com/forum ...

Re: Throttle lag issues when starting from idle

I installed a wideband, ran the ecu off it, and it went away....

Have since unplugged the wideband as have started running into a daughter board communication error which I'm about to enquire about.... That being said, the throttle lag hasn't returned so I'm really unsure what was the cause

Cheers for that, not exactly sure what lambda true is, but target is 13.2 and 13.

edit: that being said, I'll test https://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic ... IGN#p86302 out as well tomorrow if I can find what it matches to on a KPRO :O
