If i have a 2001 GSR swap in my civic, could i use just another OBD2 ecu so i dont have to worry about the immobilizer? will everything plug up to lets say, a 99 ecu fine? and all will work well? Thanks

I recently swapped a 2001 GSR into a 2000 civic EX. The 2001 GSR ecu has the immobilizer system, do i needa spend $215 to get that removed or would it be possible for me to use a 96-99 ecu? Im using the engine harness from a 99 or 00 civic SI. Thanks
