Is the only way to fix this is to get an adapter?

I actually was wondering, that since I used a Hondata s200 ECU that is labled obd2b to upgrade to s300, will it work in my 99 gsr which has obd2a wiring? I wasn't sure because the adapter harness on this ECU has all the teeth in all four sections as opposed to the pictures on the following link ...

Yes, reinstalled stock ECU with no problems. Engine starts right away.

The engine has never started with the s300 ECU. I just received it right before the new year. However, my stock ECU works fine. I had no work done on the engine.

bolt on upgrades - Comptech Intake, DC Header, Apexi N1 cat back

The engine cranks but doesn't start. The CEL comes on. No error codes.
