Re: Code 9 CYP sensor with OBD2a dist.

Finally fixed!!!! After swapping to an OBD 1 distributor (as noted in an earlier post) and trying two more OBD1 distributors, including a new one, trying Huacha's S300 to see if it eliminated the code 9 (it didn't), and revising wiring several times, I finally figured out what was going on with the ...

Re: What does "Stock injector size" do?

I think what you are saying is that if the vehicle was tuned with one set of injectors and, after the tune, the injectors were changed, then you put the original injectors used for the tune under "stock" injectors and the new set of injectors under "Current", so that the amount of fuel delivered is ...

What does "Stock injector size" do?

The S300 User Manual does not discuss the purpose of the "Stock injector size" under "Fuel Trim Parameters".

The basemap I got from my tuner (Pure Tuning in Toledo) was running lean everywhere except during closed loop. He set the "Current injector size" correctly, to match the 345 cc H22 injectors ...

Re: Ignition tables with crankshaft position sensor

Thanks for the precise suggestion. Somehow I missed the Set Timing function.

However, my vehicle has a crankshaft position sensor, so rotating the distributor has no impact on the timing.

Should I use the Set Timing function to enter the advance I am reading with the timing light?

Re: Ignition tables with crankshaft position sensor

As almost nothing on my project has gone the way it should, I have become completely paranoid. So, with my engine still not running quite the way it should, I went out with my trusty timing light and measured ignition timing at idle.

True to form, the measured timing didn't match the timing ...

Re: Will Hondata Fix This?

Is the idle staying low, or is it just a momentary drop?

After I finished my build, the idle would drop below 400 rpm for a split second after I put the clutch in, then go back up to 650 rpm. It would even stall once in a while. Probably due to my lightweight flywheel.

I easily fixed this by ...

Ignition tables with crankshaft position sensor

My 1997 Accord has a crankshaft position sensor and I am still using this for the CKP (Crank Position) and TDC (Top Dead Sensor) inputs into the ECU. I am temporarily using the Stock H22A basemap from Honda Vault (my F22 is significantly modified and using H22 fuel injectors) until I can make sure ...

Re: Datalogs do not appear in Datalogging window

That's exactly what I have been doing. But it appears that I must save or export each recording before I start the next recording, or I will lose the data. Is this correct, or is there some way to save multiple recordings after the fact?

Re: Datalogs do not appear in Datalogging window

Thanks! I completely missed the tab to enable "On-Board Datalogging" under Parameters. This explains why I didn't get Recordings in the Datalogging window.

However, your question implies that I can datalog directly to a laptop. How do I set this up? Or is this just what I have already been doing ...

Datalogs do not appear in Datalogging window

I have an S300 v2. I started datalogging a few days ago. The problem I have having is that the datalogs do not appear in the Datalogging Tab/Window, so I cannot save them (although I can export the last recording - see below).

Attached is a screen shot showing the problem. Honda datalogger.png ...

Re: Code 9 CYP sensor with OBD2a dist.

Novi! Wow, I didn't think there was anyone in the area tuning Honda engines.

Pure Tuning in Toledo chipped my ECU and installed the S300 v2 for me. He rejected the first ECU I brought him and I had to buy another, so I don't think he would have missed any corrosion or water marks. And I've had the ...

Re: Code 9 CYP sensor with OBD2a dist.

Well scratch my last post. Code 9 reappeared today. I checked resistance on the CYP sensor - at the ECU - and got 450 ohms, right in the 350-700 ohm spec and a lot better than the 787 ohms of the original distributor. Frankly, I'm stumped.

And my tuner (Pure Tuning in Toledo, Ohio) won't tune the ...

Re: Code 9 CYP sensor with OBD2a dist.

Well, BB6 was exactly right. There is an incompatibility between the CYP sensors in the F22B1 Accord distributors (both 94-95 OBD1 and 96-97 OBD2) and those used for F22A (1990-93 Accords) and the F22B2 (1994-5). Thus, my OBD1 P72 ECU threw a code 9 with my 1997 F22B1 distributor.

After putting ...
