Re: Having Trouble With My Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor

Running separate wires is not a good idea as they are more likely to get interference. You need to check to make sure that the pinout is correct and that it has the correct voltage.
Should I just refer to the helms manual for that? I don't know what voltage to expect and which wires to test.
And ...

Re: Having Trouble With My Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor

If the wiring to the map sensor is incorrect it will damage it as soon as power is applied to it. You need to correct the wiring fault before plugging in another map sensor. It will also damage a stock map sensor.
What kind of wiring fault should I be looking for? Is there a test I can do with a ...

Re: Having Trouble With My Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor

Tried my new one in my brothers car and it didn't work either. I'd try his in my car but I'm afraid it would ruin it and then he wouldn't have a car to drive.
So what could cause my car to be ruining MAP sensors??

Re: Having Trouble With My Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor

Just tried my original hondata 4 bar on my brothers turbo 06 civic si and it didn't work.
I'll try my new one I bought on my brothers car tomorrow night. If it doesn't work it makes think that my car is ruining map sensors somehow...

Re: Having Trouble With My Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor

Can you try the map sensor on a different vehicle with K-Pro to see if it reads correctly?
This will help you determine if you have a wiring fault.
Dont know anyone else with kpro but I could put it on a car with flashpro. Since I've gone through 3 map sensors I'm pretty convinced it's a deeper ...

The car would only run if I gave it some throttle, never idled by itself with the 4 bar but was able to with the factory sensor.
That's why my TPS looks so weird.

Having Trouble With My Hondata 4 Bar Map Sensor

Figured I'd post his here because I'm running k-pro, but as far as I know there's a chance it could be a wiring issue.
I have a 2005 RSX Type-S with a turbocharged k24a2 tuned with kpro.
A while back my wiring harness rubbed through the heat wrap on my turbo manifold, burning and severing wires in ...

Re: I Think I Might Have Fried My K-Pro

Ecu usb problem solved.
Found out that that usb ab connector is very common on old outdated printers. I found one then soldered it onto my k-pro in a crazy attempt to try the save some money.
I didn't really expect it to work tbh, I also have very little soldering experience and had never worked on ...

Re: I Think I Might Have Fried My K-Pro

Car starts now, the problem was the connection from the harness to the engine bay fuse box. Now I need to load a tune onto my kpro but one of the four pins where the USB cable plugs into the ecu is messed up. Can I replace or fix this? Image

Re: I Think I Might Have Fried My K-Pro

Put my ecu in someone else's car and it ran great! Found out the reason I couldn't get my netbook to connect with Kpro is because I had a bent prong where the USB cable goes into the ECU.

Re: I Think I Might Have Fried My K-Pro

the mechanic that looked at my car checked my fuse box and it is still good. He says everything is pointing to the ECU. my next step is to put my kpro into a car and actually start it up as opposed to what I did last time just to check if it communicated with the ignition

Re: I Think I Might Have Fried My K-Pro

Had a mechanic look over my car pretty thoroughly, he's pretty convinced that my driver side underdash fuse box is bad.

Re: I Think I Might Have Fried My K-Pro

And now for some reason, after I checked my ecu that other RSX, I can't even get my kpro to connect with my netbook when it's plugged into my car. The green light on the ecu comes on but it's like nothing is plugged into my netbook's USB and the "about" in kmanager no longer turns blue.
