Iam just swaping the not vtec head witch is a 8 vaulve.to a d16z6 head witch is a 16 so do i.have to.change pistons or can it go on

So you read the title do i have to change the pistons its going from an 8valuve to a 16 i was just wondering if i could just slap the head on or do i have to change the pistons and i was gunna also put a stage 1 cam in it
