I am having the same problem. I have had this for the last year.
Only happens when I run in Open Loop. Lately it has been getting worse.
I recently installed a PlX wideband. I think it may have added to the problem. I have been running in Open Loop all the time. It's pissing me off as well.

You can set the load value for when the ecu switches over from closed loop to open loop. This means that you can keep it in closed loop and get good gas mileage, then when you floor it the ecu will jump to open loop and use the open loop maps.
