Re: ECU Cut on VTEC
Ok so I swapped ecu and vtec worked. I removed my ecu’s top cover and found RM10 might be faulty. Is RM10 a component for vtec operation? I have donor boards to replace this component. Is it worth a shot? The zoomed in picture makes it look a lot worst than in person.

Re: ECU Cut on VTEC
ok, so I wire wheeled all the grounds, and replaced the VTEC switch pigtail connector and no dice. I've replaced both gaskets (with the screen), filled my engine oil to the top dot. I've tried both closed and open loop (if that matters)--no fix, engine still bogs when VTEC tries to engage. With VTEC ...

Re: ECU Cut on VTEC
I haven’t gotten around to the grounding situation as you mentioned because I don’t use the Honda during the week. But I did tinker around and saw this because you mentioned shorting to ground. These two copper wires were a lot closer when I discovered them. I’m going to replace the pigtail and ...

Re: ECU Cut on VTEC
Thanks for your response. I cleaned and sanded the ground at the t-stat. Car feels more responsive but unfortunately the vtec problem is still present. Is there any way I can trigger vtec output and check for problems?

ECU Cut on VTEC
Hi everyone. Im having a strange problem with my ECU going into protection mode when ever VTEC switches on. Im trying to dial in the VTEC table but can never get it switched without the ecu cutting or entering lean protection. I have attached my calibration and datalog of the event. Thank you.

Re: Can some one alter this map to work under load?
I could be wrong, but you might be maxing out the stock injectors duty cycle; and like spunkster said, check you total timing. 16* Is a good base idle timing (make sure u manually set it in s300 then with your timing light set the ignition timing). Mechanical timing is different from Ignition timing ...

Re: 2 questions, please review and input suggestions
Yes, I moved my fog light +12v from the switch "RUN" to the constant +12 (to the relay and then the fog light switch to the "Hot when Park Light or Headlight" )in the fuse box, so I will wire for the PLX to the +12v at the "RUN" circuit where the fogs +12v was.

Re: 2 questions, please review and input suggestions
Hey Spunkster, I want to use A25 IGP2 Power Source (Main Relay?) as my +12v for the PLX SM-AFR. Is it safe regarding voltage spikes or any other factors that may harm the ECU?
I'm trying to escape the fuse box run, simply because of neatness.
So far here is my setup in theory. ( Don't hate on the ...

Re: 2 questions, please review and input suggestions
Thanks for the info.
PLX included two capacitor to be inserted between ground and narrow band signal, and ground and wideband signal.
It's not mentioned on the link provided, do I install them?
and if those are install would i have to install a third 0.1uf in the ECU (C42) if I plan on using EGRL ...

Re: 2 questions, please review and input suggestions
Understood.
But, there are options.
I cannot locate the resistors, and if I can use the things I have at hand (old sensor), why not? (Mind you, it's less work and less things to go wrong).

What's up peoples? Before you bash me with the search stick, let it be known I've put in 4 weeks of search on Hondata, honda-tech, b20vtec, and multiple other Honda forums. I've used Google, Lycos, Yahoo, Bing, and some other search engine just to receive different search results with similar ...
