NGK Wires or OEM Wires and NGK or Autolite Plugs work well.

Making the gap narrower (0.025 - 0.035) will help prevent spark blow out.

Use a NGK 7 or 8 heat range depending upon your driving (higher speed likes colder (high number) plugs)

Short block assembly usually costs about $500 from a good engine builder. The prices for parts you can figure out from what you expect to be using.

I normally use a JDM P30 map and scale it up to 1.8L and that has worked well for me. Let me know if you would like this map.
